Impenetráveis

The three works in the series Impenetráveis were made for the art and poetry installations of Moradas nomades. Development of one of the sections of Corpografia, Impenetráveis uses the metaphor of an insurmountable sea, associated with the idea that the “counter-conquest” of culture in the Americas must be undertaken on the very creative, dynamic and diverse soil of the ” new world”. That’s why I made the drawings of the seas on sheets of lead. Not only the presence of metal as a medium, but also the difficulty that it imposes on the view of the drawing in a frontal glance, alludes to that metaphor of impenetrability. Arriving at the sea, the paths turn towards the heart of the continent. And here nomads walk towards twilight.

Os três trabalhos da série Impenetráveis foram feitos para as instalações de arte e poesia de Moradas nômades. Desenvolvimento de uma das seções de Corpografia, Impenetráveis usa a metáfora de um mar intransponível, associada à ideia de que a “contraconquista” de uma cultura autóctone nas Américas deve ser empreendida no próprio solo criativo, dinâmico e diverso, do “novo mundo”. Por isso fiz os desenhos dos mares sobre lençóis de chumbo. Não apenas a presença do metal como suporte, mas também a dificuldade que ele impõem à visão do desenho numa mirada frontal, aludem àquela metáfora da impenetrabilidade. Chegando ao mar os caminhos se voltam rumo ao coração do continente. E aqui nômades caminham em direção ao crepúsculo.
